Six Ways to Support the Colorado Pet Pantry in March

Want to make a difference today? Choose one way below to support the Colorado Pet Pantry and consider it done!

We have six ways, some quick, some not, to support the Colorado Pet Pantry this month.

1. Learn about the Pet Food Bank “Lead Volunteer” Role

In 2015 we plan to grow to six monthly pet food banks (we currently hold four monthly food banks). This will allow us to help many more pets and families in different areas between Denver and Boulder. To expand, we need more volunteers who can commit to about seven hours per month. Food banks are typically held during the weekday, so a flexible schedule is a must. We’ll train you to run the pet food bank and you’ll always have support. And don’t worry about that wedding in June, we have backup plans for sick days and vacations. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a lead volunteer for a pet food bank, please contact us.

2. Share this Article By Mile High Dog

Many thanks to Mile High Dog magazine for writing a very kind article about us. Please read it, and share it on Facebook or through email with anyone who might be interested in the pet food bank. Read the article.

3. Donate Pet Food at Any of Our 19 Awesome Partners

Nineteen pet food stores and doggie day cares throughout the Denver/Boulder-metro area now collect pet food for us. Check out the updated list and keep these generous stores in mind whenever you need pet food for your household. See the newest list.

4. Watch Roller Hockey and Help Dogs

Do you love Roller Hockey? This might be the most fun way you can help us! “Pucks for Pups” will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 6 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Roller Hockey League Inc., 3606 S Independence St. in Lakewood. Besides Roller Hockey, there will be vendors, a silent auction and food trucks. All profits will go to our friends at New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue and My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue. Bring an unopened bag or can of dog or cat food for the Colorado Pet Pantry and you’ll get a dollar off the entry price! Get more information here.

5. Create a Recurring Monthly Donation

Most donations to nonprofits come in December. They’re always hugely appreciated of course, but the challenge is that it leaves us wondering all year long if we’ll have enough funding to support our programs and better yet, expand our programs. Please consider setting up a monthly donation, no matter the size, to support the Colorado Pet Pantry. Spreading out your contribution to the Colorado Pet Pantry would greatly help us to plan much more confidently. Set up a recurring donation here.

6. Join us at Yappy Hour in Boulder

Natural Pet Marketplace at 1538 28th St. in Boulder is hosting a fundraiser benefiting the Colorado Pet Pantry this Saturday, March 14, 2-6 p.m. Come enjoy wine, treats, a St. Patty’s Day Themed Photo Booth for you and your dog, free doggy lunch, pet food reps and samples, and animal communicators!

Thanks for your support!
